phew! with temperatures in Cape Town reaching melting point, I think it’s time for something cool…a recent guest post for Plascon Design Centre will be just the right flavour…
AnOther Mag creates decadent ice-cream illustrations to go with the latest SS13 collections…all the flavours in these delicious illustrations by Tom Baxter are inspired by the equally mouthwatering looks of the latest fashion season.
Versions of ice-cream can be traced back to China in around 200BC when a frozen mixture of milk and rice was eaten, and the Roman Emperor Nero was believed to have had ice brought down from the mountains and combined it with fruit toppings. In 1776, the first ice cream parlour opened in New York City. Then in 1851 a Swiss-Italian businessman, Carlo Gatti, opened the first ice-cream stand outside Charing Cross, selling scoops of this delicious treat for one penny.
With summer on our doorstep, the only decision left to make is…will you have one scoop or two?
