Love Dutch design aesthetics but you live in Australia? Not a problem. House of Orange, the Amsterdam design warehouse, brings that natural simplicity of good and functional furniture to the land down under. Their latest look book, styled by Deb McLean and photographed by Colin Doswell, caught my attention immediately on Est Magazine recently. The styling is edgy and modern, while the pop of neon against a minimal palette of moody greys gives it that wow factor…
I must say that I had to smile when I read the print below! And don’t you love the 2-toned painted brick wall? Great idea to spruce up sad and dated brickwork.

I spotted such a beautifully styled interior image on Pinterest the other day, and after a few more clicks, found out the image was part of a catalogue for the Danish interior brand Broste and photographed by the talented Line Klein. The autumn/winter 2013 catalogue for this Copenhagen-based company was styled by the accomplished stylist Nathalie Schwer, and these moody, smoky hues really feel like the perfect way to end this chilly, rainy week we’ve had in Cape Town. Our fire is roaring and I’m about to pour a glass of red wine, so I hope you all have a cosy weekend and enjoy the time off.
