DVF spring 2016

Hello! Yes, I am still in the land of the living. I’m in the throes of an exciting creative project which has been gobbling up my time, brain power and energy levels with an insatiable appetite. I’m feeling a bit like elastagirl at the moment – stretched! Inspired? Yes! Daunted? You bet! I’m looking forward to sharing it soon, but for now, please excuse my sporadic posting of gorgeous things as of late. I sometimes think that I could do with being one of those paper dolls that are cut out of paper and held together by folding tabs. I could just duplicate myself and accomplish it all! Ha ha. I must just make sure that the shape I cut out of myself has a lovely dress pattern. If I’m going to be stuck in the same frock, it had better be a good one.

Talking of good frocks…the latest collection from the queen of the wrap dress, Diane von Furstenberg, is beautiful. Chock full of springtime prints in confident colours reminiscent of an Indian summer. Think saffron, fuchsia and indigo.

Diane von Furstenberg – RTW fall 2014

The queen of the wrap – Diane von Furstenberg – strikes again. This time with her 40th anniversary collection titled Bohemian Wrapsody celebrating her signature – the timeless wrap dress. Splashed with bold mix ‘n match prints in striking combinations, the Ready-To-Wear Fall 2014 collection lauded the DVF iconic silhouette while still clinching a contemporary cut. Backstage von Furstenberg said, “I used to take the wrap dress for granted, and sometimes I even resented it. Now that I decided to honour it, I’m proud of it, of its timelessness.”
