Lemlem: made in Ethiopia

Lem Lem 6

When Liya Kebede, supermodel and World Health Organisation’s Goodwill Ambassador for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, realised that artisan weavers in her native country of Ethiopia were losing their jobs from the decline in demand for their wares, she was moved to do something about it. The beauty, quality and cultural importance of the art of weaving in Ethiopia inspired Liya to start Lemlem in 2007.
