Kirstenbosch 100 years old


this week marks the 100-year anniversary of the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, one of the great botanic gardens of the world. I’m particularly fond of Kirstenbosch because I live just around the corner from it and have spent many an afternoon with my family exploring the garden and its natural beauty. Kirstenbosch has an elegant charm, with her rolling, grassy hills draped on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain and views to die for. Part of a nature reserve, Kirstenbosch was the first botanic garden dedicated to a country’s indigenous flora. I visited the gardens this week and snapped a few of those indigenous winter beauties to share with you today…
