Hello Gorgeous! and a GIVEAWAY

How are your nails looking? If they’re not quite summer ready, then I have a treat for you…

Hello! Gorgeous treated me to a gorgeous Shellac nail treatment at their very stylish Newlands Nail Bar in Cape Town last week. Apart from the fabulous black and white striped d├ęcor, how can you possibly resist a place that greets you with, “Hello! Gorgeous.”

Hello! Gorgeous is the perfect solution for your hands and feet. My friendly therapist Nicole applied a delicious watermelon pink Shellac treatment to my nails while I relaxed and sipped coffee. Shellac is the answer to great nails if you’re on the run and don’t have time to wait for your nails to dry. Set with a UV light, the CND Shellac sets immediately and lasts much longer than ordinary nail polish, staying fresh and chip-free for ages. Hello! Gorgeous offers a variety of other treatments in their convenient, clean and relaxing nail bar in the Newlands Quarter on the corner of Dean and Main Street. They even have Snapscan, so no more smudged nails as you dig around in your bag for your credit card after a manicure.

Scandi-Victorian home in Woodstock Cape Town

Tucked into the back streets of Woodstock lies a quiet retreat, away from the hubbub of an active Cape Town suburb. The remodelled home of Luke Pedersen and his wife Jen retains the dialect of this authentically Cape Town quarter but with a sophisticated articulation. Luke, one half of design studio Pedersen + Lennard, gave careful consideration to both the structural and aesthetic renovations. Drawing inspiration from the Scandinavian rationale we’ve come to associate with Pedersen + Lennard furniture, they created light, flow and spaciousness in a Victorian space where there previously was none. With personal attention to detail, this Cape Town couple has achieved something quite special – keeping the essence of the historical charm of Woodstock while creating a uniquely contemporary home.
